It explores basic concepts of Einstein's Theory of Relativity-it uses fairly complex algebra to explain some of them, but you can skip over that to get the results! It does help to have a basic knowledge of physics, but he does explain the really complex concepts without going into calculus. It is a hard book to put down, even though it is not "light" reading-you have to think through the concepts, but he really challenges a lot of 'common sense" assumptions, as Einstein did! The only thing I do not like about the book is that it lacks a subject index-but it does have a good list of equations used in the back!

Jason Lisle does a masterful job of explaining Einstein's physics in terms that anyone with a basic science background can understand. His examples and analogies are easy to follow.

Excellent explanation of the basic principles of relativity and their implications for cosmology. Makes you think. - hard.

Glad I purchased the book.

This is such a cool book. I have not yet finished reading it, but I have already learned so much. It's definitely true what they say, "Truth is stranger than fiction." This is a very interesting book, and for the most part, surprisingly understandable (given the subject matter). Dr. Lisle is incredibly gifted at explaining things in a way that makes them more comprehensible. He masterfully uses analogies/illustrations in the book that are very helpful. The book does have its parts that are hard to follow (e.g. much of the mathematical proofs are hard for me to follow). But you don't have to be able to follow those to enjoy the book.
