Judika Illes is an independent scholar, educator, and author of several books of folklore, folkways, and mythology. Judika is a graduate of Rutgers University and has a certification in therapeutic aromatherapy from the Australasian College of Herbal Studies. Her books include Encyclopedia of 5,000 Spells, Encyclopedia of Spirits, The Element Encyclopedia of Witchcraft, The Weiser Field Guide to Witches, and The Weiser Field Guide to the Paranormal (published under the name Judith Joyce).

Everything you could want to know about asking saints for assistance, including what to offer, symbolism associated with each and days that are important. Only thing I would have asked for was "more," [i.e., more saints]. But the author got most of the main ones, a few of the rare ones. Possibly could have added more archangels (or maybe will come out with a book just about them/angels in general?) But all in all excellent. There aren't enough books that mesh magick with Christianity, which I think is becoming more popular and definitely a niche that needs attention. This book is a good one for that. But this book could probably be used by traditional Catholics as well, looking for information on saints and their associated history and symbolism, if they aren't too uptight about comparative religious ideas, which are mentioned within many of the entries. A good reference I now use frequently.
I LOVE all of Judikas books. She is my favorite author on all things witchcraft hands down (and I’ve read a lot of authors) you can tell she is very knowledgeable and really puts a lot of resources and information in each of her books. I like this book in particular because it’s not just “catholic†saints but saints and holy individuals from all kind of religions and walks of life! Particularly useful if you practice hoodoo or spirit work.
Judika is an amazing author! Prolific, talented, well researched, WELL written, and easy to read... This woman is a boon to our community! Anyone can read her, scholar to student, and she writes in a fascinating, enjoyable way. I love this woman! She is a treasure, whatEVER she writes is GOLD! I have everything she has written, and they are an invaluable resource. She is great for both fun and research, ALSO... Her books are esthetically pleasing. So, they even LOOK pretty!! I love HER, her books, and her energy! She is a wonderful asset. I am thank ful she is as prolific a writer as she is! We are ALL blessed by her works!
I just received this book and have already started reading it. Also, I have noticed even the "flip through" quality of the book is excellent. I really enjoy this author's books, needless to say. The flow is not harsh and erratic but very smooth and gentle. The information is extensive with a capitol E. This book is a good investment in my opinion.
Pretty good book with a great deal of detail. I downloaded it to my iPad with no problems at all. I use it to figure out how to work with the saints. I love it.
The book was the one I have been looking for. It was in fair to good condition, no missing pages, the binder unbroken. All in all, a good book in good definition with a good price.
Judika Illes makes it easy to learn. I have purchased just about everything she has written. I have NEVER been disappointed. A great deal of care goes into her publications.
This book is a treasure for those who enjoy mysticism and folklore on saints from around the world, beautiful book.
