I have used many bread machine recipes that I've found online for my bread machine that were all Betty Crocker recipes and they always turn out great. I thought that I would have a blast trying the different recipes in this book and it was such a good price to buy used on Amazon, but the recipes were not that good. The basic white bread recipe was a good one that I have made multiple times, but the overwhelming majority of the remaining recipes were for unappealing breads. I expected at least a few basic types of bread that would become household staples but the recipes were for breads that you would really make very rarely or that only appeal to a few people. Now, I do love Betty Crocker recipes, but I would not purchase this particular bread machine book, I would look for another one.

The recipes were ok but not what I was looking for

Great useful recipes but book was stated to be in used, good condition and was not. Serval different pages with gunk crusted on them. Yuck-o! Item was returned.

I love this book. I have several bread machine books but I go back to this one for some of the same recipes over and over. Most notably, the buttermilk bread and the harvest bread. The harvest bread is a very savory loaf, excellent for sandwiches. The buttermilk comes out just likethe buttermilk bread you can purchase in the stores, but its fresher because you make it yourself. I am online to buy another copy because I have misplaced it and can't believe its gone!

I had this book before. Bought this one for a friend.

I have used this cookbook many times when I have needed to make a loaf of bread. The recipes are very easy to read; easy to make. I have highlighted many of the recipes and I continue to make them over and over. I have had several other bread machine cookbooks but I alway come back to Betty Crocker's. I bought this additional copy for my daughter since she just recieved a bread machine. So far she likes the book also. I would recommend this cookbook to everyone. PJ

CHAPTER SEVENThe Japanese established headquarters all over town. Our home was no longer ours. It was theirs. The local school would become our home away from home, but before going there we had to register at the police station.At the station we joined other Dutch companions in distress. My father looked around and expressed surprise at the number of former Dutch government officials who were in the same situation.I quickly observed that our family was the only one with children. A few single men were in the group, along with some older couples and one single woman — my teacher, Miss Seau.When my mother saw Miss Seau, she immediately walked up to her and pulled her aside in private conversation. Miss Seau knew that I was a girl! She was the one who encouraged me to play the accordion on Saturdays at singing class. She led the students in song while I accompaniedthem on my accordion.Just as the two women began to speak in low tones, heads bowed, my father approached to inform my mother that he was being called in for the "registration." I watched the two women from a short distance away. An expression of surprise came on Miss Seau’s face; then she walked awayfrom my mother and in my direction."Hello, Miss Seau. Mom told you?"She returned my greeting with a smile and a rather reserved, "Hello! You’re looking good! The change is very becoming."Something in the way she looked at me made me uneasy, so I asked her, "Is anything wrong?" She moved closer to me and whispered, "Your mother told me everything except . . ." She paused for a moment, looking around to assure privacy."Except what, Miss Seau?""Except . . . what do I call you, Rita? What is your new name?"Her question caught me totally off guard. "Please don’t talk to anybody about me until I return." I fearfully looked around, afraid that someone might have overheard her call me by my real name.When I whispered our oversight to my mother, she turned pale."Dear Lord, how could we have overlooked something so important?" She became frantic, realizing that my father was not there to discuss the matter. Tante Suus, noticing the commotion, came closer to see what was wrong. The two whispered and now it was my aunt’s turn to be shocked. At the same time, my father emerged from the office. Whenhe approached them, Tante Suus sighed with relief and left my parents to talk.From a distance, it was as if I was viewing a silent movie with the actors involved in a squabble. Then my father gently took my mother’s arm and led her toward us. He seemed very much in control, relaxed, and confident, unlike my mother. As they reached us, my father said to mewith a big grin on his face, "Hi, Rick!""Is that my new name, Pop?" I whispered."Yes! From now on your name is Richard. You may be called Rick." When I heard that, it was as if the little girl named Rita with beautiful long brown hair no longer existed. I felt that this new creation by the name of Rick, with the boy’s haircut and dressed in boys’ clothing, had completely taken over her life.My father then gathered us around him for a talk. He told my brothers that they had to forget they had a sister. "You now have a brother, and his name is Rick." René, who was much too young to really understand what was going on, took it all in stride. Ronald, on the other hand, seemedannoyed."I was very lucky that the clerk did not do any crosschecking, especially on Rita’s birth certificate," my father continued, addressing my mother and aunt. "I would not have known how to get out from under it if he had. It would have been disastrous, but . . . all is well. Thank goodness!"I returned to Miss Seau to give her the news about my name. When I rejoined my family, Father Koevoets was there. He gave me two thumbs up and a wink as if to say, "Keep up the good work!"Registration for all prisoners was completed that afternoon. We were ordered to gather up our belongings, line up, and march to the school across the street. Walking through the gate with the group reminded me of cattle being driven into a corral, just like in a western movie. On one side of the school yard, we rested on the grass in the cool shade of the trees. Japanese guards flanked the area, keeping a sharp eye on us.Moments later, food was distributed. We had no idea where it came from or who had prepared it. During the meal, we tossed about many questions regarding our situation, but none of us knew the answers. One of the most crucial questions — "Will we stay together or be segregated? — " was left unanswered. Dread overcame us all.I remembered what my father had said earlier, about how the enemy would have better control over its prisoners if they were all concentrated in one place. It was true, and it was happening now. There was no doubt in my mind that he had been right.After lunch, the sharp sounds of slamming car doors cut through the already tense atmosphere. Voices at the front gate spoke what sounded like an order in Japanese, directed at us. Disguised: A Wartime MemoirThe book was everything that I expected and then some. I am sending a copies to my family members

This book was very well written and it was hard not think that you were there with her. She writes very candidly and vividly when recalling these experiences that happened 50 years ago. I found it hard to put down and read the entire book in three days. Of course, I had to work a couple days so that cut into my reading time. All in all, this is a great freshmen effort and I can't wait for the next installment. It felt like there should be a next chapter to the amazing life. Thanks for the chance to read a private part of your life, Rita!

This is a WONDERFUL concordance. Our Pastor required us to get a Strong's Concordance and a Vines Dictionary. So I decided to search Amazon for the books and long behold I came across this awesome book and it had it all in one which is amazing. This book is a size of a school text book. If you are willing to learn of Gods Word even the better. Don't let the size discourage but encourage you to buy. The print is small so for those that have trouble reading small print I would suggest a full page magnifying sheet to make it easier on the eyes. I have ordered several of this book for members of my local congregation as well. I intend on ordering more. I attend a Bible based Christ Center, Holy Ghost led Sabbath Keeping church. Here is where we learn, study and search the Word of God. So this Concordance/Dictionary will help us grow stronger and dig deeper into the Bible.

Do not waste your money on this greatly truncated version of the original full sized Strong's concordance. The paper is embarrassingly cheap and the citations poorly condensed. I know this because I have the full version and compared them side to side.Stick with the original, I immediately returned this one.

I must say i am simply amazed at this version of Strongs, and not only the product, but also these sellers. i got it even days before i was supposed to always a plus. that about covers my happiness with the sellers, although i still feel i am not giving them the justice they deserve. but now onto the product itself, it is a hard back which i usually can not stand, but for something even this thick it works. this strongs is done in easy laid out sections. it gives you an introduction, how to use etc, then goes into a concordance of all the words used in the KJV, also other translations as i was suprised a added bonus not mentioned. from the concordance it then goes into the strongs number section of Hebrew, then Greek, respectfully. and yet another awesome bonus not in many Strongs, is not only the words of our Lord in red (although all of the word of God is inspired of course) but the cool addition of some of vines best Definitions of not only the english but also on the hebrew and greek. there is also a complete topical index to the bible i did not know i was getting which is great, a chart of the harmony of the gospels, Teachings and illustrations of Christ,The parables of Jesus Christ, The laws of the bible, Prayers of the bible, the Jewish calendar, Jewish feasts, Monies and weights, New testament monies,Measures of length, Dry measures and liquid measures. for thosee that took the time to read this, thank you and God bless. i was trying to write a review quickly, so i apologize for missing pronunctiation and spacing etc. but wanted to get it all in. what you will get with this awesome addition for pastors, and students alike.in Christbrother Travis.

I was not expecting the text to be so small. I will need a magnifying glass to even read the text so I do no think it will be useful to me because I can't read it.

Be advised that the print font is so small that the only way to make out the writing is with reading glasses AND a magnifying glass. Font is also very light, you would go blind trying to use this book. Very disappointed that this fact was not included in the item description along with a sample of the font. I requested a return after 5 minutes of looking at it. Terrible, should have been 2 volumes.

Hippo Books did not say that this is an edition that does not include Hebrew or Greek and that is not numerically coded for cross-reference. Maybe Hippo Books is ignorant of the requirements of scholarly research or they don't know their product. Caveat emptor. So, not being a Xtian I didn't know this product either (my bibles are in Hebrew and Greek and I have those lexica in my memory- nevertheless this type of "popular edition" version just adds a few steps to my research which I can live with. But this still gets an overall ONE rating for poor product and service. Took an overly and unusual long time to arrive by the way. This version also leaves out articles, clitics, common conjunctions and prepositions-and adverbs- what if I want to look up passages like " 'a' certain man"? That passage when it appears is CRITICAL; in the Hebrew, it reads "ish ehkhad" which is indicative of something VERY significant and history-changing about to happen. The word "ehkhad" ("one") which is omitted from this poor excuse of a watered-down make-it-too-easy agenda of lack of scholarship, is among the 168 words omitted. Further to the point, there are 40 more words like "Moses", "Aaron", "Israel", "holy", son", "servant", "God", "Jesus" and others that are "condensed by retaining the MORE IMPORTANT PASSAGES" [emphasis mine] to the exclusion of others. The words for "Jesus" in the Old Testament are, again, critical to some passages. Avoid this edition. At all costs. This one goes into a box at the back of a closet. Get the heavy, large "exhaustive" concordance instead.

This is the ultimate study guide of the Bible! With EVERY WORD (even words like: "a", "and", and "the") in the King James version of the Bible is alphabetically listed in this concordance. The depth of the concordance is amazing! What really impressed me, and what I was not expecting, was the fact that it has Hebrew and Greek dictionaries of the words originally used in the Bible! I have been to Key West several times and love it. This book brings back memories of my trips. The pictures are gorgeous and the reading includes historical information - very enjoyable to read. The back section includes home plans of various styles of Key West homes. My only complaint is I wish the pictures that correspond with the home plans were actually pictures like the rest of the book (they are renderings).

Key West Style really educated me on the the interior archicture, floor plans and history. the book will be useful for anyone want information about Key West or considering remodeling a home to incorporat some of the charming features.

I expected the book to be about lifestyle not house design. It seem typical for what has become of Key West - overbuilt, with a narrow view on style. Key West style to me is an internal thing, not how a house looks or is furnished! I returned this product.
