I bought this book because the Innovation Matrix the author uses, which he first introduced in a short article in HBR (I should have been tipped off right there) was the first one I'd seen that integrates the four types of innovation he focuses on into a single model. It was a mistake. This is a bad book. There is no real conceptual underpinning, no thesis, no real insight. It is merely anecdotal. The two dimensions of the matrix -- the problem definition and the domain definition -- are never defined in the book in sufficient depth to make the matrix meaningful. The author's lack of formal training in economics and strategy is evident throughout, no matter how many trendy buzzwords he bandies about. Having finished the book, I still do not know what the author believes a domain is or how his readers are supposed to think about a domain as we assemble a diversified innovation portfolio. Don't waste your time and money.

Finally! There’s a book about innovation that I can recommend to other people without reservation. It’s Greg Satell’s Mapping Innovation: A Playbook for Navigating in a Disrupting Age. That’s a pretty strong statement, so let me elaborate.Back in the 1990s, a major oil company engaged me as part of a team to develop a course on innovation and creativity. As a part of that project, I took a deep dive into the research on both of those terms, as well as most of the business literature. The research was often insightful, but most of the business books got it wrong.Many books treated innovation and creativity as the same thing. They’re not. Creativity is generating new ideas. Innovation is combining and modifying ideas to come up with ways to do things better. There’s more in my post, “A Creativity and Innovation Catechism.”Others perpetuated the intertwined myths of the lone genius and single flashes of inspiration. Still others offered their “secrets” of innovation. His blog posts always seemed to be well-researched and superbly written. That’s true of the book, too. You are sure to relate with each character as they experience camp from their own point of view where the youngest campers have to find courage to overcome the fear of being away from home for the first time, while the older, more experienced children, have to deal with Jeffrey, the jokester who never gets tired of playing tricks on other children. You will not want to miss the unfolding of how Rosco and his friend save the day.I read this book with my 6 year old daughter and she was excited with the games and the story telling around the fire pit, afraid of the “danger” lurking outside the girl’s cabin, and many times feeling that Jeffrey was not the nicest kid in camp. I would highly recommend this one to anybody looking for an easy reading, fun adventure story with plenty of action and suspense. James, Mandy, and of course the lovable Rosco, return in this fun story for a fun filled week at summer camp! Intelligent Rosco comes to the rescue again and saves the day! A fun story for all ages.

My nine year old loved this book, as he has with all of Shana's books!! He thought James was a great character with confidence and courage. He liked how stood up against others who were doing wrong. My son loves to run and he loved how fast Rosco was when playing capture the flag!! We received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Great book my son is eager to see what happens with the frog. Repeative so this is a must for early language learners.

The patterned text and predictable pictures (for the next animal encounter)are excellent for young listeners and beginning readers. The color/blackand white pages also have a predictable pattern. After teaching kindergarten for over31 years, I've never found a group of children that didn't quickly chime in,"Jump, Frog, Jump." This is a favorite book to share. It is also fun to dramatize.

Perfect for toddlers language development--point to pictures, find the frog, or read the text for older children.

Classic book that's very cute! My husband loved this book when he was young, so we purchased it for our 2 young children and they love it just as much as daddy!! They love saying the "jump frog jump" part in the book. This book is fun and very entertaining!

One of these books which are not that interesting but my kids had to buy for a school report

Toddler not so amused by it. We usually skip this one when it's reading time.

Good fun, and good tips from a Ukrainian that loves her country (which clearly shows in the writing) and takes a look at it from the outside.I have travelled in Ukraine and it is indeed an insane place - in the positive sense of the word. I love the country, I have enjoyed every single place I have visited, and I found perhaps a bit too much focus on what to be aware of - I have never had a bad experience, but I will probably be a bit more careful next time I go. I'm not sure that is the point of the book :-)For someone planning a quick trip to an often overlooked country, this is a great and handy little guide. Much recommended. And I need to go to Chernivtsi - that's my main take-away!

SPOT ON on beauty procedures in Ukraine. This is where I go from Danmark for all cosmetic procedures small and big. Bit a shame that doctors/cosmetologists don't speak English too good. But if you take a friend for translation, the salons/clinics will gladly serve foreign customer. That's sort of prestigeous for them :) You forgot to mention dental services that are cheep as dirt in copmarison with foreign prices. I am getting my superadvanced braces in Ukraine this summer thats for sure.Awesome giude!

This tiny book is a jewel. This is the second copy of the book that I purchased to give as a gift. The water color illustrations are inviting and beautifully executed. Any one who knows downtown Savannah will recognize some of the gates and gardens and those planning to visit the city will enjoy the guided tour and narrative the book provides. What a dreadful loss that this dear little book is no longer in print.

The combination of the exquisitely painted gates as illustration with the well-researched and intriguing facts about each gate make this book a simple MUST on any serious walking tour of the area. Ms. Cadorette's work is breathtaking; my only regret is the book is not larger to truly enjoy the love so obviously put into these paintings. She has made the already beautiful Savannah even more so, by carefully merging artistic creativity and local knowledge. After taking the walking tour myself, I would love to thank her for enriching my whole experience. (And for being so gracious as to sign my copy!)

A smallish sized yet quality paper and production book, Gates of Savannah is interesting reading, in that it tells the story behind each gate, including the craftsman who fashioned it. I especially wanted the book for the beautifully painted pictures of each gate. I love wrought iron, and the writer/artist captured some of the most beautiful gates and surrounding gardens we saw on our vacation to Savannah.

The author inserts some political opinions that are not relevant to her tour of gates. She also makes a few errors of fact in history. However, the paintings are lovely and it's fun to walk around with the book and look at the actual gate with the painting in hand. I take photographs, too.

This book is a great little guide book for a leisurely stroll thru the streets of Savannah. The artwork is very detailed and exquisite! These paintings catch the iron work gates and their surroundings during various times of the year. (A personal favorite is the house at Forsyth Park at Christmas time...)For those that live in Savannah, this is a great book to have on hand for your guests to use for a stroll around town. A great way to spend a few hours on a spring day to work up an appetite for all the great restaurants and pubs. (helps make room for those sinful desserts available all around town!)

This book is simply amazing. The pictures in here make you feel like you're standing in front of the gates of Savannah! There is even a little map inside the book so that, when you venture to Savannah, you can see all of the gates yourself! The history of the gates keeps me going back to this book again and again. You should definatley get this book!
